Work experience
Since 2010, Attorney Yu Jiandong has been engaged in legal and risk-control work at enterprises, holding positions including Legal Manager for Tianhong Real Estate’s Shandong projects, Supervision Supervisor at Evergrande Group’s Shandong branch, and Director of Internal Control and Compliance at Huaxia Happiness Group. Starting in 2022, he joined Huatai Law Firm and has been practicing there ever since.
Before practicing law, Attorney Yu Jiandong spent over ten years working in corporate legal affairs and internal control compliance. He has a thorough understanding of criminal compliance risks associated with various aspects of business operations as well as the types of criminal cases involving enterprises. The cases he has handled cover offenses such as bribery by non-state personnel, embezzlement in the course of duty, misappropriation of funds, bid-rigging and collusion among suppliers, and fraudulent behavior by suppliers in contract performance. Among these cases, 28 individuals were referred to judicial authorities for criminal prosecution, and the firm successfully recovered direct economic losses totaling 170 million yuan for its clients.
Since beginning his practice, Attorney Yu Jiandong has not only handled criminal cases but has also taken on a large number of cases involving corporate and commercial disputes, debt enforcement, and other related matters. In addition, he serves as legal counsel for businesses and non-profit organizations, providing clients with proactive legal advice to help them avoid risks and, in the aftermath, offering dedicated and thorough legal assistance to minimize their losses.
Some cases
- In the fraud case involving Li, the procuratorate of a certain district in Beijing was compelled to modify its sentencing recommendation in court. Ultimately, based on the suspect’s guilty plea and acceptance of punishment, the sentence was reduced by eight months, successfully cutting the suspect’s original sentence by nearly one-third.
- Represented a Beijing-based photovoltaic enterprise in a partnership contract dispute case involving an amount of nearly 160 million yuan.
- In a government procurement contract case, where the contract did not specify interest for late payment, the agent representing the supplier successfully sued the Management Committee of a certain high-tech zone in Shandong and obtained late-payment interest at an annual rate of 18%, which was ultimately enforced.
- In a private lending case in Langfang City, Hebei Province, we successfully persuaded the court to recognize the plaintiff as a professional lender, thereby helping the defendant avoid paying over 5 million yuan in loan interest.
- In a certain enforcement case in Langfang City, Hebei Province, enforcement was restarted four years after the case was initially concluded. By tracing leads to locate the debtor’s assets, we were able to ensure full recovery of the debt.
- In an enforcement case in Langfang City, Hebei Province, after the case was closed, the agent creditor filed a lawsuit against the shareholders of the debtor company and successfully obtained the recovered funds through enforcement.
